Age of Empires® II: The Age of Kings™ worked flawlessly under Kubuntu Gutsy with the latest Wine version configured to run Windows 98. There was one problem with the start icon placed on the desktop with the installation of the game, this shortcut didn’t work correctly (the game does not start, either it doesn’t load and asks for the CD or it do load and asks for CD to play single-player mode) but the empires2.exe file inside the game folder on the CD – using it to start the game with did work. I can imagine this being pretty individual – which way that starting aoe2 works.
